This film explores the resurgence of anti-Semitism in Europe. The dominant feature of current Jew hatred in Europe, the so-called “new anti- Semitism”, is the demonization of the State of Israel and a violent antipathy toward those who support it. Many European leaders believe that all too often this virulent criticism of Israel is a cover for deep-seated, centuries-old anti-Semitic prejudice born and bred on European soil. Extremist Islamists, who have immigrated to Europe in growing numbers, have allied with Europe’s left-wing and human rights groups dedicated to the delegitimization and ultimate dismantling of the Jewish state. European Jews are also hearing the familiar drumbeat of the old anti-Semitism, as far right and openly anti-Semitic political parties gain support, in countries where entire Jewish communities were exterminated in the Holocaust. This chilling portrayal of the challenges facing European Jewry takes us to 7 European countries, to meet Jewish leaders and those who wish them harm.
